July 2023 Letter

Last month I wrote to you, my partners, with fantastic news about how the Lord provided us with a church facility to rent as the one we were renting was sold, and the owners wanted us to vacate the property asap. Thankfully the old lease was up in September, but we were still under pressure because the church is growing, and there was nothing to rent in Tralee to accommodate us. The situation looked quite desperate through my eyes (as it often does in a crisis). When I tell you that I looked at everything, I mean it. Whether it was in our budget or not. Places that seemed workable but then the owner wouldn't budge on the monthly rent. Areas that were in complete disarray, but the owners thought they had the Taj Mahal and priced it accordingly to that. One Sunday, I brought the quandary to the church and expressed that I was weary but knew the Lord would provide. As a church, we took the whole month to pray specifically for a building in the community, a location with ample parking (quite a problem in Ireland) and room to house us and the blooming kids' ministry. Not soon after, a lady from the church sent me a property that might work. It turned out that it was the Lord answering our prayers. Each one of the things that we were praying for, He answered. Once we signed the lease, the work started immediately. For the next four and a half weeks, we worked vigorously, putting in 12 to 14-hour days so that it would be ready in time for moving in July. The amount of work was quite expensive. We removed a long wall to give us more room in the main sanctuary, added carpet and electrical outlets to provide power for our commuters and video needs, and painted walls from top to bottom throughout the facility. The church family pitched in, with many serving after working a long day themselves. Finally, we were in a place where we could have our first service, although we still probably had weeks of painting to do. Our first service was on the 9th of July, and we had many visitors. The following week the Summit Church brought nine people and helped us finish the painting. It took 12 of us two days to complete the remainder of the work. I'm so thankful for the Lord's timing in all this, right down to sending us help to wrap it up at the end. If you have prayed, given, or physically helped us reach this point, we are humbled by your generosity. Follow us on Facebook to see all the pictures: Stewards in Ireland.
