July 2022

Dear Friends, Since we began our 2022 Defender campaign on July first, we've welcomed 5 new Defenders! We are so grateful to welcome these folks as they've decided to take a stand for LIFE by committing to a monthly gift! It's hard to believe this month is already half way over! We're only 12 days away from the end of July, and thus the end of our Defender campaign. The reality is that in order to build a consistent monthly income to sustain the budget needed to keep our services going, we still need 25 more people to sign up as Defenders by July 31. As you can imagine, the women who walk through our doors are uncertain and scared, but they are also strong and brave. It takes courage to make an informed decision. It takes courage to hear a perspective that may be different than yours. It takes courage to sift through some very hard circumstances and be open to finding a way through them. It is the heart of all of us at ComfortCare to truly see and value the women that take this courageous step. She is worth loving. She is worth defending. We hope that we can offer a space for all of our patients to feel safe to process what they need to make a healthy decision. When we do this – when YOU, our supporters, provide this space – we know she will be empowered to make a decision in truth and love as opposed to fear and societal pressure.

August 2022

Last month, we challenged you to consider becoming a Defender during the month of July. We are humbled and grateful to report that TWENTY of you became NEW DEFENDERS last month! These new monthly gifts equate to an additional $13,200 per year which goes straight into supporting the mission of ComfortCare. In addition, $2,000 was unlocked and generously donated by a supporter who pledged a matching gift!

Happy Thursday Friends! I hope this email finds you all well and thriving. I am writing today because, at various times, most of you have mentioned having a desire to help out ComfortCare in more than only financial ways. And, I have a few current volunteer needs that I think is perfect to have multiple folks help out with. 1) We have recently had our Staunton clinic exterior doors replaced. They need to be painted. They are currently hanging so we’ll have to work with that. Also, since it involves our clinic area, we’ll have to work on a Saturday most likely. There are 5 of these. 2) And since you’ll be outside painting, I need the bases on our columns painted as they have been replaced and are currently bare wood. There are 4 of these. 3) We have all new interior doors for the 1st floor clinic area. They are slab ONLY and will need the hinge indents cut out as well as the door knob holes. But they need to be painted first. Since the doors are not currently installed, these can be taken back to your church or some other location to be painted first. There are 11 of them!! These will need to be hung in our clinic once they are painted and dry. 4) We need to replace our mailbox so I’ll need someone to install that with Quikrete. That’s all I can think of right now. J But, if your church or group from your church would be able to help in this way, let me know. I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for considering! Melissa

July 2023

Time for a refresh. Over the past year, we have been significantly aware of something throughout the organization: seasons. We have reflected on this word as we considered a relocation in Augusta County; as we considered new outreach opportunities in all of our service areas; as we experienced growth in fundraisers and engagement; as we saw transitions in certain volunteer and staff teams; as we celebrate the 40th year of ComfortCare Women’s Health’s existence. Undoubtedly, we sensed the beginning of a new season. With the new season, we also sensed it was time for one other important change: a new logo. While we don’t have complete clarity as to what God is preparing us to do in this new season, we do see growth, vibrancy, service, hope, and love. We challenged some designers close to us to help us reflect those sentiments in a new logo. Reflect on the peace and serenity described through our designer’s inspiration for this new image: “inspired by the sunrise of a new day and its likeness to what is offered through ComfortCare Women’s Health. Paired with hopeful and peaceful colors, the half sun is representative of the next chapter for mothers entering your care.” Join us as we celebrate this update and the new season that is upon us! Gratefully, Stephanie Crawford President and CEO / ComfortCare Women's Health
